holy synchronicity. just before i read this i quoted fukuyama in an essay i'm working on:
"transhumanists are just about the last group I’d like to see live forever.” -ff
(the joke is transhumanists are trying to achieve immortality. through being cyborgs. personally, that makes me think of an endless star trek convention. and it makes me cry.)
ugh... those guys... yeah. +1 the star trek convention sensation. immortality = overrated. think of your grandparents: people seem to lose interest in life before retirement age. What the hell are we gonna do with immortals? How much of our GNP will be committed to producing soap operas? And I suppose they'll all be voting for the conservative party...
to speak of synchronicity: found arthur miller's 'death of a salesman ' at valu-village for 69 cents: day before he died.
